The basic concepts and characteristics of major scientific research projects is introduced.The risks that influence the project development during the organization and management of MSRPs are outlined. Strategies that avoid the implement risks of major scientific research projects are proposed based on the aspects of project establishment management, process management, and acceptance management, which is also combined with the authors’ practice and experience of scientific research project management. These strategies are helpful to the smooth development of major scientific research projects.
