The Rationality of Algorithm Governance in the Era of Intelligence

越来越多的文献从制度主义和社会治理的角度研究算法如何基于管理社会复杂性的空前能力来塑造社会秩序。作为一种新的技术治理类型和独特的社会协调形式,算法治理似乎超越了既定的管理范畴和模式,因此,需要一种新的方式来思考如何调节社会秩序与关系。算法治理以一种新颖的方式实现了群体规训和社会协调的结果,可以运用霍布斯的政治哲学思想来对它进行解释。将算法治理与其进行比较,可以发现它们在社会治理方面的相似性,从而使得算法治理的合理性得以证成。

More and more literature studies how algorithms shape the social order based on their unprecedented ability to manage social complexity from the perspective of institutionalism and social governance.As a new type of technical governance and a unique form of social coordination,algorithmic governance seems to have gone beyond the established management scope and mode.Therefore,a new way of thinking mode about how to adjust the order and social relations is needed.Algorithmic governance has achieved the result of group discipline and coordination in a novel way,which can be explained by Hobbes’s political philosophy.Comparing algorithm governance with it can highlight their similarity in social governance and therefore prove the rationality of algorithm governance.
