自传体是早期美国华裔女性作家通常采用的一种书写方式。以黄玉雪、谭恩美和汤婷婷为代表的美国华裔女性作家,从少数族裔和女性特有的敏锐和视角,以自传体小说书写方式,讲述了华裔女性在父权制思想和异质文化语境中迷茫、挣扎、抗争的创伤经历,解构“他者”边缘化地位的不懈努力和寻求自我身份的艰难历程。

Autobiographical writing is a kind of writing style usually adopted by early Chinese American female writers.Taking the form of autobiography,and basing their writing on their sensitivity,representative writers like Jade Snow Wong,Amy Tan and Maxine Hong Kingston described the traumatic experiences of Chinese-American females’ confusion,struggle and fight in the patriarchal ideology and heterogeneous cultural context,their relentless efforts to deconstruct the marginalization of “The Other”,and the painful process to explore self-identity from the perspective of ethnic minorities.
