本文探讨伯纳德·斯波斯基社会语言学思想的形成过程,总结他对语言社会学理论及语言政策研究范式发展的主要贡献。研究发现,斯波斯基主张摆脱"语言中心主义",倡导重点关注语言背后的社会问题以及语言与社会之间的深层关系,聚焦"社会中的人"的需要和诉求。其社会语言学思想发展了语言研究的社会转向,具有问题导向、超学科性、以人为中心等特征,这对我国当前的语言研究及语言规划研究具有重要启示。

This paper explores the development of Bernard Spolsky’s theory of sociolinguistics and summarizes his contribution to the development of sociology of language and the language policy paradigm.Through exploration,it is noted that Spolsky advocates a shift from being language-centric to focusing on the social issues and the dynamics between language and society and meeting the needs and demands of people-insociety.What is reflected in Spolsky’s theory of sociolinguistics is the social turn of linguistic research,and the main features of his theory include being problem-oriented,transdisciplinary and people-oriented,which may have great significance for the current language study and language planning research in China.
