易代之际的诗文书写是林纾复杂心态的现实流露。一方面,诗文的大量出现代表了林纾由文学翻译到文学创作的实践转向,这一转向也间接地表明林纾对于文学意图的改变和重塑;另一方面,林纾的诗文多以战乱之惨烈、个人之悲怆为旋律,在文学书写中凸显作者在易代时期的价值定位,进而展现战乱因素对于林纾“共和老民”与“大清遗老”的身份影响。在这双重身份的摇摆之间,林纾内心深处的酸楚、惊恐与无奈跃然纸上,令人动容。因此,解读易代时期的林纾诗文是研究晚清遗民之身份形成及选择的重要方式。
