Concepts of Ci in Yuan and Ming Dynasties

元明两朝是传统词学观念的转折期,一方面继承了两宋以来形成的词学传统,另一方面也在新的形势下提出了新的词学观念。从继承方面来讲,其是对苏辛一派性情论和姜张一派雅正论的直接传承,从发展方面来看,则是对五代和北宋词学主情观和体性论的恢复,并且提出了文体更新代变论,其给予宋词以较高的评价,而对元明词的创作成就与历史贡献则有微辞。

The yuan and Ming Dynasties were the turning period of the traditional concept of study of Ci.On the one hand,the tradition in the study of Ci was inherited from the Song Dynasty;On the other hand,new concepts of the study were put forward along with the new situation.From the aspect of inheritance,they transmitted the theory of temperament of Su Xin School and the theory of elegance of Jiang Zhang School.From the aspect of development,they restored the theory of emotion and style of study of Ci in Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty,and put forward the theory of stylistic renewal and change.They praised Song Ci,but slightly criticized the creative achievements and the historical contributions of Yuan and Ming Ci.
