This paper uses ethical literary criticism and trauma theory to analyze Tennessee Williams'trauma writing and ethical thinking in A Streetcar Named Desire. On a personal level, after suffering the emotional trauma that Allen brings to her,Blanche seeks comfort and security from many men,and falls into ethical chaos. At the family level,Blanche's family trauma mainly stems from the decline of the southern plantation family. She hopes to reinvent her noble image by constructing her identity as a southern lady. But the hypocrisy and obsolescence of her identity condemn the failure of identity construction. At the social level, the powerful society discriminates against and persecutes the vulnerable groups such as female and spiritual victims, which left Blanche traumatized again. She is isolated and helpless, and has to move towards the ultimate ethical tragedy.
