A Corpus-based Comparative Study of Use of Hedges in Business English Letters

基于语料库的商务英语信函模糊限制语在CELs和NESs中的使用具有极大的相似度,不仅表现为情态动词使用频率较高,而且在商务英语信函中也实现了四种语言功能。基于语料库的商务英语信函模糊限制语的运用会受到语境、使用者心理以及外部环境的影响。基于此,拟对语料库的商务英语信函模糊限制语运用情况进行对比研究与分析,并提出运用策略,以期能够为相关领域研究提供参考建议。

The use of hedges in corpus-based business English letters in CELs and NESs has great similarity.Not only is the frequency of use of modal verbs high,but also four language functions are implemented in business English letters.The use of hedges in corpus-based business English letters will be affected by context,user psychology and external environment.Based on this,this article conducts a comparative study and analysis of the use of hedges in business English letters from the corpus,and proposes strategies for the use,in the hope of providing reference for research in related fields.
