指路标志版面设计表达形式的理解性试验研究

Comprehension Experimental Research on the Expression Form of Guide Signs Layout Design

在我国路网日益复杂,非职业驾驶人大幅增长的背景下,交通标志的作用日益凸显。指路标志的合理设计可为道路使用者提供直接准确的引导服务,可有效提高道路通行能力和行车安全性。然而各地指路标志版面设计“百花齐放”的状态,为人们的出行带来困惑的同时,也带来了安全隐患。选取国内8个城市的指路标志版面设计表达形式,开展了指路标志理解性试验研究与分析,期望找到更易于被人们理解的指路标志表达形式。研究认为指路标志版面设计应符合:各方向通达道路信息布设在该方向箭头图形指向(延长线)上,且文字排列方向与其线形一致;增设当前直行和横向道路信息,并将其置于相应版面图形内;当需告知前方多条通达道路信息时,应按由近及远顺序从左到右(或从上到下)排列。试验表明此种指路标志表达形式,更符合大众的心理认知特征,更易于理解,利于道路使用者安全顺畅出行。

In wake of more complicated of road networks and mushroomed of non-professional drivers in China,the role of traffic signs has become much prominent.The rational design of guide signs can provide direct and accurate guidance services for road users,which can effectively improve roadway capacity and driving safety.However,the expression forms of guide signs’layout design in different cities,even for different sections in same city,are so different and inconsistent.It brings great confusion for people s travel,as well as security risks.In this paper,the expression forms of guide signs in 8 domestic cities were selected,and the comprehension experimental research and analysis were carried out to find a reasonable expression form of urban guide signs that are easier to be understood by road users.According to the research,the layout design of guide signs should conform:the arriving at road message of each direction should be arranged on the position where the destination arrow is pointing to(or on its extension line),meanwhile,the arrangement direction of the massage words should be consistent with its road alignment.The current straight and horizontal road name are added and placed into the corresponding arrow graphics.It should be noted that there are multiple access messages to be required,it should be arranged from left to right(or from top to bottom)in order from near to far.The experiment shows that the expression forms based the above suggestions are closer to the psychological cognitive characteristics of people,which is easier to be understood and more useful for the safe and compatible movement of public.
