In late March, some Western countries announced sanctions against China over alleged human right abuses in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,claiming an unproven repression of the Uygur ethnic group. Also, a human rights report issued by the U.S. accused China of carrying out "genocide" against the Uygur ethnic group. The orchestrated and well-coordinated attack on China, coming soon after China declared complete victory over absolute poverty that saw nearly 100 million lifted out of poverty in the past eight years, is not accidental.
