从To be,or not to be的汉译看《哈姆雷特》最新演出版的可表演性

摘要 剧本一般是为了演出而创作的,莎剧也不例外,然而关于莎剧汉译本可表演性的研究尚不多见。本文提出,为演出翻译的莎剧应有助于取得原剧本的戏剧效果;重译莎剧应以准确理解和充分表达原文意义为基础,充分反映莎剧语言的多样性。为此,译本的语言不仅应让中国演员感觉朗朗上口,而且应让中国青年观众听得明白。本文从语言学视角研究《哈姆雷特》最新演出版的汉译,认为该译本既没有还原莎剧的本真,也不具备可表演性。 Plays were written for performance and Shakespeare’s plays are no exception.There is little research,however,about the performability of Chinese translation of Shakespeare’s plays.The article proposes that the translator should produce contemporary translations of Shakespeare’s plays which worked well in performance.A new Chinese translation of Shakespeare’s plays should be based on correct understanding and full expression of the meaning of the source text,and fully embodies the diversity of the language.Therefore,the translation should be readable and clear to both Chinese actors and young audiences.Adopting a linguistic perspective in studying the performability of the latest Chinese translation of Hamlet,this article finds that the translation neither gives a complete transcript of the ideas of the original work nor works well in performance.
