摘要
本文关注经济全球化与教育回报率地区差异的关系,为我国劳动力跨地区流动提供了一个新解释。基于"中国家庭追踪调查"数据,本文发现经济全球化对教育回报率有着显著的正向影响;以进出口总额与GDP之比计算,若一个地区参与经济全球化的程度提高1个标准差,当地的教育回报率可提高1个百分点,从约7%增至8%。这意味着参与经济全球化活动对教育回报率的促进效应是非常可观的。本文使用了多种衡量指标和不同的模型设定,经济全球化与教育回报率正相关这一基本结果都相当稳健;研究结论有助于增进学界对经济发展模式与要素积累互动关系的理解,也为解释我国劳动力流动方向的结构性差异提供了新视角。
From the perspective of the relationship between economic globalization and regional differences in educational returns,this article provides a new explanation for the inter-regional labor flow in China.Based on the Family Panel Survey in China,we find that economic globalization has a significant positive impact on the rate of educational return.By the calculation of the ratio of trade to GDP,if a region’s participation in economic globalization increases by 1 standard deviation,its return to education can be expected to increase by 1 percentage point.Taking into account that the return to education is usually around 7%,this means that the return to education in the region is expected to increase by 14%.Participating in economic globalization activities has a very significant effect on the return to education.Using a variety of measurement indicators and different model settings,the finding of the positive correlation between economic globalization and the return to education are quite robust.The findings in this article help enhance the understanding of the interaction between economic development models and factor accumulation while also providing a new perspective for explaining the structural differences in the direction of labor mobility in China.
