As one of the most widely recognized acting methods in the world, the Meisner Technique emphasizes to pursue authentic acting by training to stimulate actors’ spontaneity. Acting with spontaneity is not only the artistic creativity of actors but also the root of acting authenticity. Meisner’s inspiration of actor’s spontaneity has enhanced the importance of subconscious reactions in performance to an extreme. The training of actor’s spontaneity will complement and improve the acting training in China in the context of globalization, and give inspiration and reflection to the creation of contemporary Chinese theaters.
