The Qing dynasty saw a revival of parallel prose, and the compilation of parallel prose anthologies also showed a prosperous trend beyond the past dynasties. The heyday of the compi⁃lation of parallel prose anthologies was between the Qianlong period to the Daoguang period in the Qing Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, the creation of parallel prose gradually declined, but the compilation of anthologies still maintained considerable vitality. The parallel prose anthologies in late Qing Dynasty was inherited from the mid-Qing Dynasty, and there was an obvious continuity in the content, style and compilation purport of the anthologies. However, this kind of continuation was al⁃so accompanied by some extensions and innovations. The sequels and commentaries of parallel prose anthologies from the Jiaqing period and the Daoguang period not only further highlighted the achieve⁃ments of parallel prose creation in late Qing Dynasty, but also extended and expanded the ideas of scholars in mid-Qing Dynasty from the aspects of theoretical discussion and creative practice.Mean⁃while, the rise of regional anthologies and anthologies systematically summarizing the achievements of one or more generations of parallel prose also highlighted the innovation of the compilation of parallel prose anthologies during this period, and reflected the important position of the anthologies in the compilation history of parallel prose anthologies in the Qing Dynasty.
