在英语教学中突出思辨能力培养是20年多来国内英语教育改革的焦点之一。思辨能力相关理论与英语教学的配适度问题一直备受关注,在大学英语课时有限的前提下,哪种思辨能力模型更加适合大学英语教学呢?理查德·保罗和琳达·埃尔德提出的由思维要素、智力特征和思辨能力标准组成的思辨能力三元结构模型及其相关理论和操作指南为大学英语教师教学和学生自学提供理论指导和实操办法,使英语水平和思辨能力同步提高。

The cultivation of critical thinking in English teaching has been one of the focuses of China's English teaching reform for the past two decades.How to apply critical thinking theories appropriately to English teaching has been a great concern.Taking the limited class hours of College English into consideration,this paper thinks Richard Paul and Linda Elder's critical thinking theory including elements of reasoning,intellectual traits and intellectual standards,five levels of close reading and detailed instruction can offer theoretical guidance and serve as an effective tool for college English teachers'in-class teaching and students'after-class practice and self-study,allowing students to develop English competency and critical thinking skills at the same time.
