蔡仁厚与劳思光对阳明"四句教"的解读或诠解在中国哲学史研究中颇具代表性。劳先生的解读是一种"主体论"式的,他视"四句教"是陈述四个论点,非一有序之系统,他重点对"无善无恶心之体"做了解读。蔡先生的诠解是一种"存有论"式的,他视"四句教"为有一内在秩序之系统,对"四句教"逐句予以疏解。二位先生的解读或疏解虽有相近之处,但更多的是相异。

Cai Renhou and Lao Siguang's interpretation of Yangming's"Four-sentence Doctrine"is quite representative in the study of the history of Chinese philosophy.Mr.Lao's interpretation is a"subjective"style.He regarded"the Four-sentence Doctrine"as a statement of four arguments,rather than an orderly system.He focuseed on the interpretation that"the mind-heart substance is neither good nor evil".Mr.Cai's interpretation is a kind of"ontological".He regarded"the Four-sentence Doctrine"as a system with an internal order,and interpreted the it sentence by sentence.Although there are some similarities between the interpretation of Mr.Cai and Mr.Lao,there are much more difference.
