高校学生英语学习定向动机流多维动态研究

A multidimensional and longitudinal exploration of college students’ Directed Motivational Currents in EFL learning

本研究以定向动机流为理论框架,采用因子分析、潜变量增长曲线建模和移动相关系数图等方法,对98名中国高校学生英语学习动机进行了两个学期的多维动态考察。研究结果表明:(1)定向动机流包含目标/愿景定向性、参与者拥有意识、积极情感和跳跃式促成性结构4个维度;(2)各维度的轨迹起伏波动,但变化特征不显著,英语专业和非英语专业学生之间存在明显差异;(3)各维度之间关系趋向紧密,交互作用明显。定向动机流视角下的英语学习动机是一个复杂系统,其运行特征兼具稳定性和恒变性;动机行为是软集成过程,具有涌现性。

Within the framework of Directed Motivational Currents(DMC), this study is conducted in an attempt to explore 98 Chinese college students’ EFL learning motivation in two semesters by the methods of factor analyses, latent growth curve modelling and moving correlation plot. It is confirmed that:(1) DMC is composed of goal/vision orientedness, participant ownership, positive emotionality, and salient and facilitative structure;(2) DMC trajectories rise and fall, with insignificant changes, and variations exist between English and non-English majors;(3) DMC components interplay increasingly along the timescales. From the perspective of DMC, EFL learning motivation stands as a complex system, runs with stability and dynamics, and emerges through a soft assembly.
