Prescription review of medications for special populations is becoming more and more important.When lactating women receive drug treatment,we not only consider effects of physiological changes on drug metabolism in the puerperium,but also pay attention to the toxic and side effects of milk medicine on baby.Therefore,the prescription review for lactating patients should focus on:breastfeeding status,lactation pharmacokinetics,safety of selected drugs,whether according with the medication principles for lactating women,drug contraindications,guideline recommendations,and off-label medications,etc.This article elaborates on the basis and main points of prescription review,in order to provide ideas and methods for lactation patients'prescription review,and further improve prescription review ability of pharmacists.
