摘要
特立尼达黑人英语作家塞缪尔·赛尔文的小说《孤独的伦敦人》讲述了加勒比移民在二战后伦敦的城市生活。小说聚焦加勒比移民在城市各领域的日常生活和存在状态,探讨处于流动之中的群体被英国工业社会族阈共同体的同一性要求分解为不完整个体的社会过程。透过加勒比移民的生存境况,体现作家对在后工业社会的运行机制中共同体的再造以及对社会合作秩序建设的反思。
The Lonely Londoners, written by Trinidad Black English writer Samuel Selvon, recounts the city life of Caribbean immigrants in London after World War II. This paper focuses on the daily life and existence of Caribbean immigrants in various fields of the city, and discusses the social process in which the migrating population is decomposed into incomplete individuals by the identity requirements of the British industrial community. This paper also examines the author’s reflection on the reconstruction of community and the construction of social cooperation order in the operation mechanism of post-industrial society by the living conditions of Caribbean immigrants.
