在不同时期,五四纪念话语始终具有对青年进行思想政治教育的特殊功能。在新民主主义革命时期,中国共产党人利用五四纪念话语对青年进行政治动员,向青年传播革命理论,不断改造青年的精神世界。在社会主义革命和建设时期,五四纪念话语关注青年的全面发展,并与青年团工作相结合。在改革开放和社会主义现代化建设新时期,五四纪念话语立足青年思想解放,与学习青年模范相结合。进入新时代,五四纪念话语成为青年坚定理想信念的"精神之钙",使广大青年在五四精神的引领下不懈奋斗,成长为有远大理想抱负、深厚家国情怀和伟大创造力的时代青年。

At different times, the commemorative discourse of the May Fourth Movement always has a special function of ideological and political education for young people. During the period of New Democratic Revolution, the Chinese communists used the May Fourth commemorative discourse to carry out political propaganda to young people, to spread the revolutionary theory and to provide them with spiritual power. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the May Fourth commemorative discourse focused on the comprehensive development of the youth and combined with the work of the Youth League. After the Reform and Opening up, the May Fourth commemorative discourse was based on the ideological emancipation of young people and was combined with the study of young moral models. Entering the new era, the May Fourth commemorative discourse has become the "mental calcium" for young people, and they will strive for the realization of the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation with the guidance of the spirit of the May Fourth Movement.
