To be Leaders in Inheriting and Developing Confucianism:A Thinking on the Development and Construction of Chinese Confucian Institutions in the New Era(2)

中国儒学机构要在新时代发挥更加重要的作用,应面向大众,顺势而为,做儒学传承发展事业的引领者。为把握好“引领者”这一概念,儒学机构有必要主动回答三个问题:“为了谁”的目标问题,“我是谁”的主体问题,“怎么样”的评价问题;有必要正确处理“大”与“小”、“热”与“冷”、“上”与“下”、“中”与“西”、“古”与“今”、“黄”与“红”、“言”与“行”、“点”与“面”、“公”与“私”、“因”与“果”等十大关系。今天的儒学机构还有必要秉持“共同体意识”,加强行业内融合协作,“抱团取暖”,推动整个儒学事业的发展进步。

In order to play a more important role in the new era,Chinese Confucian institutions should be geared to the needs of the public,take advantage of the trend and become the leaders in inheriting and developing Confucianism.To be eligible leaders,it is necessary for Confucian institutions to figure out the following three issues and balance ten major relations.The issues include:“What are their goals?”,“Who are they?”,“How are their abilities and achievements?”and the relations are:“Confucian thought and traditional Chinese culture”,“popularity and disfavor”,“knowledge and ways”,“China and the West”,“past and present”,“tradition and modern”,“words and deeds”,“whole and part”,“public service and personal interests”,as well as“cause and effect”.Confucian institutions today still need to have“sense of community”,enhance the integration and cooperation within the industry and help each other mutually so as to promote the development and progress of the entire Confucian cause.
