萧衍与梁朝处士的交游考论

On Communication between Xiao Yan and Hermits of the Liang Dynasty

处士是梁朝社会上一个特殊的文化群体,其成员不仅多出自名门,而且很有才学及操守。梁朝处士虽未仕隐居于家中或山间,但却颇关心当时政治。作为当时一国之君的萧衍,为稳定时局及实施其治国方略,相续征招处士入朝为官,这使他们之间的交流变得更为频繁。然而,梁朝处士却不愿为“五斗米”折腰,屡次直接或间接地违抗萧衍的圣旨,可萧衍出于对知识分子的尊重与政治需要,向他们不断地妥协,为此,梁朝处士才能得以善终。

Hermits is a special cultural group in the society of the Liang Dynasty.Mostly from noble families,they were talented,virtuous and ethical.Though living in seclusion at home or in mountains rather than staying in the political arena,they cared about politics.They maintained close communication with Xiao Yan,Emperor of the Liang Dynasty,because the emperor needed their help to stabilize the country and implement his strategy of governing the country.Xiao Yan repeatedly called upon hermits of the Liang Dynasty to secure official positions at the beginning of the dynasty.However,unwilling to work for riches and honor,those hermits directly or indirectly disobeyed the imperial edict of Xiao Yan.Out of respect for the intellectuals and the political need to win over the noble families,Xiao Yan constantly compromised with them,thus the hermits in the Liang Dynasty could get away from risks and stay safe and sound.
