摘要
针对当今的研究型大学中设计教师正面临的二选一的事业发展困境,即要么继续追求设计的兴趣,要么转去自己并不擅长的学术研究,提出"一石二鸟"的发展策略,"一石"就是设计教学,即设计教师的本职工作,"二鸟"就是教学和研究,即大学对教师的基本要求。其关键是将设计工作室教学作为一种特殊的学术研究,即由设计教学引发的研究应该能够强化而不是削弱设计学科。这样的一种发展策略既挑战大学对学术研究的通常定义也非出自建筑学的传统,故需要仔细论证。
Working within today’s research university,a design teacher is facing a dilemma to make a career choice between either to continue to pursue his/her interest in design or to shift to the unfamiliar field of academic research.However,there is a possibility to combine them into one,i.e."to kill two birds with one stone".One stone refers to design studio teaching,which is the daily duty of a design teacher,while two birds refers to teaching and research,which are two primary tasks assigned by university.The key is to consider studio teaching as a special form of academic research.The advantage is obvious that research interest out of design teaching will strengthen the field of design,not weaken it.However,this strategy either challenges the current definition of teaching and research by university or lacks its root in the tradition of architectural design,therefore,needs careful articulation.
