ETH as a Model:Building up a Design-Centered Faculty Structure

摘要 通过阐述设计与研究的关系、机构与教学组织、师资任用与评价、师资引进4个方面介绍了苏黎世联邦理工学院模式的建筑教育和师资建设。建筑学教学的核心目标是学生设计能力的培养,而知识和研究是其必要保障,应该在认识设计与研究明确差异的基础上,构建适合的组织机构、教学计划、师资引进和评价体系。只有人尽其才、各尽所能才能促进教师和院系的长远发展。 Focusing on four aspects-the relationship of design and research,the organization of institutes and teaching,the appointment and evaluation of teachers,and the selection of new professors,this paper introduces the ETH model of architectural education and faculty building.The main aim of architectural education is to develop students’design capacity,while knowledge and research play a fundamental role as necessary guarantees.Based on the understanding of a clear difference between design and research,the department could build up the appropriate institute,curriculum,and faculty hiring and evaluation system.Only when everybody does what he/she is capable of,can it promote the faculty and department’s long-term development.
