毛泽东著作英译与国家形象建构:基于语料库的考察

A corpus-based study on translating Mao Zedong’s works and constructing national images

本研究采用翻译研究的形象学路径,以同源文本这一概念为基础,以毛泽东著作译入和译出文本为考察对象,使用语料库方法比较不同译本在人称代词使用上的差异,进而探讨两种翻译方向下的译本对国家形象的建构。研究发现,由于人称代词使用差异,各译本从不同视角建构国家形象,凸显出不同的国家形象特征。本文指出,各译本在建构国家形象上的差别主要取决于翻译活动所选择的原文版本。

Adopting an imagological approach to translation studies,this paper,based on the concept of homogeneous texts,investigates the inward and outward translations of Mao Zedong’s works.The paper probes into the use of personal pronouns with corpus-based methods,so as to investigate national image construction in different translations.It is found that,due to the differences in using personal pronouns,the translations take different angles in national image construction and highlight distinct features of the national image.The paper attributes the discrepancies between the translations in national image con-struction to the version selection of source texts in translation activities.
