The Polish director and artist Taduesz Kantor’s innovations in theatre and artistic breakthroughs illustrate the close connection between the theatre of the twentieth-century and modern artistic currents. Kantor’s extensive incorporation of artistic concepts and formal language initiated new ways of viewing;at the same time, he combined Poland’s national history and social realities to make bold innovations in the theatrical concept, which emphasized the equality and autonomy of the different elements within the theatre, and developed a unique style of "death theatre". As a pioneer in contemporary theatre and artistic innovation, the breakthroughs and explorations of Kantor in artistic creation will provide a reference for understanding those about post-theatre.
