对比语言学视角下的英汉习语比较研究

A Comparative Study of English and Chinese Idioms from the Perspective of Contrastive Linguistics

习语是文化信息特别集中的词组或句子,是语言的精华。本文以对比语言学理论为指导,采用语料分析和比较研究的方法研究英汉习语的特性。研究结果显示,英汉习语表达中有许多共同文化特征,但也各具特点,这是不同国家语言表达方式的不同及中西方文化差异带来的必然结果。

Language is the carrier of culture.Idioms,the essence of language,are phrases or sentences with special focus on cultural information.Guided by the theory of contrastive linguistics,this paper makes a contrastive analysis of the differences between English and Chinese idioms by means of corpus analysis and comparative study.The results show that there are differences in cultural features,rhetorical devices and language structures between English and Chinese idioms,especially in the four factors that influence the formation of idioms,namely,regional environment,customs,religious beliefs and psychological association.This is not only the difference of language expression in different countries,but also the inevitable result of cultural differences between China and the West.
