Objective To explore the effect of self-made inflatable automatic roll-over cushion on the roll-over of bedridden patients in neurosurgery department. Methods A total of 100 bedridden patients who were unable to turn over on their own were selected as the observation group by convenience sampling method where inflatable automatic turn over pads were applied. From April 2016 to April 2017,100 bedridden patients who could not turn over on their own were enrolled into the control group where traditional intervention was performed. The incidence of stress injury, the duration of turning over and family satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference on stress injury incidence after 24 h between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of stress injury in observation group after 48 and 72 h of pressure damage were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The operating time of turnover in observation group was shorter than that of the control group. The patients'families satisfaction in observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The application of inflatable auto-roll position pad can reduce the incidence of stress injury in the patients after neurosurgery, reduce the workload of nurses and improve the satisfaction of patients'family members.
