摘要
原初状态的理念在约翰•罗尔斯的政治哲学中具有重要地位。罗尔斯将这一理念的意义界定为一种"device of representation"或一种服务于公共及自我澄清之目的的思想实验。在厘清罗尔斯设计原初状态的诸多理论考虑的基础上,本文对该术语的一些常用汉译进行了检讨,并针对现有各种汉译的一些不足之处提出了相应的改进建议。
The idea of original position plays an important role in John Rawls's political philosophy.According to Rawls,it is defined as a device of representation or a thought experiment for the purpose of public-and selfclarification.Based on the analysis of Rawls's theoretical considerations in describing the various features of original position,this article examined some of the frequently-used Chinese translations of"device of representation"critically and suggested some alternative translation strategies so as to avoid the defectiveness of existing translations.
