莱布尼茨与怀特海都对近现代主流的机械论世界观表现出强烈的不满,力图以自己的哲学思想来恢复世界的生机与价值.但莱布尼茨仍然局限于传统的实体主义模式和与之相对应的全知全能的上帝观,从而陷入了内在的矛盾.而怀特海则彻底贯彻了过程主义的哲学观和宗教观,超越了莱布尼茨的单子论,成为现代有机论哲学的杰出代表.

Leibniz and Whitehead are both discontented with the mechanistic worldview which is mainstream in modem times,and try to restore the vitality and value of the world by their own philosophy thoughts.But Leibniz’s thoughts fall into the internal contradiction being still confined to tjhe traditional substantivism and the corresponding view of omniscient and omnipotent God.Whitehead thoroughly carrys out the philosophical and religious implication of process thought,solving the contradictions of leibniz’s monadology,and becomes an excellent representative of modem organism philosopher.
