Political teachers should not only pay attention to students'academic performance,but also pay attention to the cultivation of students'core competence.This paper discusses the cultivation of students'core competence in senior middle school politics teaching from four aspects:the necessity of cultivating students'core competence in senior middle school politics teaching,the requirements for teachers to cultivate students'core competence in senior middle school politics teaching,the problems existing in senior middle school politics classroom teaching,and the specific strategies for cultivating students'core competence in senior middle school politics teaching.
