Chinese and Asian Studies at Rutgers University

涂经诒教授在美国罗格斯大学任教四十多年,创办中文项目,长期担任亚洲语言文化系主任,并于近年主持孔子学院。本文根据涂教授的口述整理而成,以时间为序,记录了该校中国研究数十年来不断发展的历程,是研究当代美国中国学史的原始资料。

Professor Ching-I Tu has been teaching at Rutgers University in the United States for over forty years.He founded the Chinese program,chaired the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures for a long time,and has been the Director of Confucius Institute at Rutgers for several years.This paper is an edited version of the oral history of Professor Tu.In chronological order,it records the continuous development of Chinese studies at Rutgers in the last few decades and is a primary source for researching the history of Chinese studies in contemporary America.
