My Role in the Making of Gamble Photograph Digital Collection

西德尼·D.甘博照片数据库是杜克大学图书馆制作的一个数据库,笔者自2008年初开始参加数据库中地名元数据的制作和翻译工作。本文主要陈述元数据的制作过程中遇到的困难挑战和解决的方法。本文也简单记录了笔者最近的一次尝试,即增加一个GIS地图以方便使用者更好地查找照片。

Sydney D.Gamble photograph collection is a digital collection from Duke University Libraries,published in 2008.I have been involved in the creation of metadata of place names,including the translation of metadata into Chinese.This article is a brief summary of the difficulties and challenges in the process and the various ways tried to solve them.It also briefly accounts my recent attempt of adding a user-centered GIS map to this photograph collection.
