摘要
考虑日益增长的图像信息数据量造成的图像传输与存储压力,为减少图像中的冗余信息,实现图像的无损压缩,利用JPEG2000专用的编解码芯片ADV212与可编程逻辑门阵列FPGA相组合,设计了一种图像压缩系统。由ADV212负责对图像进行压缩,FPGA负责控制整个系统的时序和图像数据传输,提高压缩效率。初始化阶段,利用FPGA配置ADV212的内部寄存器选择工作模式、实现对压缩比和小波变换系数的灵活控制。通过实验测试,在选用5级小波系数的情况下,对尺寸为640×480的彩色图像进行压缩,经过10:1压缩后的图像与原图像对比清晰度无明显区别。通过与其他JPEG2000图像压缩系统对比,本设计在峰值信噪比(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio,PSNR)、均方误差(Mean Squared Error,MSE)、压缩时间上性能更好。
Considering the image transmission and storage pressure caused by the increasing size of image data,we design an Image compression system composed of the JPEG2000 decoding chip ADV212 and a programmable logic gate array FPGA.The compression efficiency is improved since the ADV212,and the FPGA share the compression and transmission work.The working mode,the compression ratio,and the wavelet transform coefficient of ADV212 can be set flexibly by FPGA at the initializing stage.The experiment shows that,with the compression ratio of 10:1 and Level5 wavelet coefficient,there is no apparent distinction between the compressed image and the original one of size 640×480.Compared with other compression systems of GEPG 2000,the designed system performs better under the MSE and PSNR standard.
