Seto More:Chinese-Canadian Pioneer

司徒旄(1889—1967,字英石)任职加拿大远洋轮船客户经理近40年。他学贯中西﹐以其广博的学识自由地穿梭于东西文化和不同族裔之间﹐将中加两国紧密地联系在一起。司徒旄后人将他的中文藏书和档案资料捐赠予加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学亚洲图书馆。作者通过对司徒旄特藏的梳理,初步探讨了这位加拿大华侨先驱的史迹﹐希望藉其引起海内外学者的重视和进一步的研究。

Seto More(1889—1967)also known as Seto Ying-Shek,Situ Yingshi worked as a passenger agent for the Canadian Pacific Railway's Ship Company for close to 40 years.As the secondary literature on Seto More is sparse,we examine the primary source materials in the Seto More Special Collection held by the University of British Columbia's Asian Library in an attempt to constitute a profile for this significant historic figure.This paper builds on his life as a resource guide and offers researchers an important opportunity to build on this primary source work laid out by the librarians of the University of British Columbia.
