A Study on the Influencing Groups of the Decision-making of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty in the Punitive Expedition against the Liao Dynasty

宋徽宗时期,为收复燕云地区,较长时间的酝酿和权衡形成了与女真联合伐辽的决策。辽地降人、使节、边臣和宰执等群体出于不同的利益诉求,在履行献策职责时或彼此分化,或相互勾结,或实事求是,或危言耸听,均试图对皇帝的决策产生影响。徽宗面临急速变化的外部形势和复杂朝局,出于巩固亲信团体、收复失地并最终强化皇权的考量,最终采纳了王黼和童贯等人联金伐辽的主张。

In order to resume the area of Yanyun,the Song has to make an alliance with Nvzhen to send a punitive expedition against the Liao.It takes a long time for Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty to make the decision,for the demobilized people,envoys,frontier officials,prime ministers and other groups try to influence the emperor’s decision-making because of their different original intentions when they are performing their duty of providing advice or colluding with each other.Faced with the changeable external situations and the complex internal situations,in order to consolidate the cronies,resume the lost land and finally strengthen the imperial power,Emperor Huizong eventually accepts the advice of Wang Fu and Tong Guan to make an alliance with the Jin to send a punitive expedition against the Liao.
