As a special local chronicle only found in Yunnan province, the salt well chronicles began to be compiled in the Qing Dynasty. Judging from the existing salt well chronicles, the categories are clear and in order. The current important documents have high document value and academic value. "Black Well Chronicle" written in Kangxi period has the textual characteristics of the history of salt wells under the vision of the "Great Unification" of the Qing Dynasty. Because of the cultural consciousness and regional identity of local officials and scholars, the local government has focused on constructing an independent regional cultural landscape of salt well in this book.
