Folded Landscape The Design of the Paper Kite House and Jiuzi Park on the Bank of Suzhou River in the Context of Multiple Urban Relations

文章从梳理九子公园与城市的多种关系出发,指出有别于传统独立封闭的公园建设,九子公园与城市高架、城市生活、城市区位的联系更为紧密,是融合景观与城市公共空间、服务城市功能的契机。文章回顾了位于上海的九子公园从地形折叠到建筑折叠的设计策略,并着重以两组清水混凝土折板建筑为载体,分析了设计策略对公园与城市关系的回应,以及如何将原有封闭自成体系的传统公园改造为一个水、园、城共融的"城市风景",引发了对建筑师在风景营造中以空间操作为核心的思维模式的讨论。

Departing from the multiple urban relations of the Jiuzi Park by the Suzhou River,this article reveals the potential of converging landscape and urban public space in terms of Jiuzi Park’s critical location and its close connections with urban life and transportation.Further,it reviews the folding strategy from the terrain to the architecture,especially the Paper Kite House and the Pavilion Restroom in bare concrete that respond to the relations between the park and the urban space.The design transforms a traditional,isolated park into an urban landscape in harmony with water,garden and city,thus triggering a discussion on the role of the architect in landscape design.
