It is widely accepted that roast duck has its origins in Shandong Province.Jinan,the capital city of Shandong,is an eloquent testimony to the origin of roast duck.Also known as braised duck,roast duck appeared frequently in the novel Jin Ping Mei,or The Golden Lotus,in which it was a favorite dish of many characters.
