翻译隐喻观的体认分析

The Embodied-Cognitive Analysis of Metaphorical Views on Translation

在英语文献中,有关翻译活动的隐喻表达式约有500条之多,它们都是围绕概念隐喻"翻译即交际"及相关支隐喻建构而成的。本文基于体认翻译学论述其中的"征服、约束、开启、吃"等支隐喻机制,以及我国古代学者有关翻译的语音隐喻表达式,认为它们都可用"体"和"认"这两大基本要素来解释。研究表明,概念隐喻和结构性隐喻不仅对这类表达式具有强大的解释力,有利于加深对翻译活动的理解,而且对人类理解、学科建构具有关键性统摄功能,拓展了体认语言学的研究范围。

In English literature,there are about 500 metaphorical expressions on translation.All constructed around the root metaphor“TRANSLATION IS COMMUNICATION”and relative branches of metaphorical mechanism.This paper has discussed the relative branches of metaphorical mechanism,i.e.CONQUERING,BINDING,OPENING and EATING,and the ancient Chinese scholars’phonetic metaphorical expressions about translation on the basis of Embodied-Cognitive Translatology.They can all be reasonably explained by the two basic elements of“embodiment(ti)”and“cognition(ren)”.Thus,we can see that conceptual metaphors and structural metaphors not only have adequate interpretative power for these expressions,broadening our understanding for translation,but also have played a key and commanding role for human comprehension and disciplinary construction,broadening the research scope of Embodied-Cognitive Linguistics.
