Adopting a single factor four-level experimental design, the researchers investigated the influence of different readingtypes(no companion, strange teacher's companion, mother's companion, and ather's companion)on 5-year-old children's visual fixation in electronic storybook reading by using the SMl eye tracker. The results indicate:(1)"no companion"type can attract children better to pay attention to print than“with companion”types, and“companion with strange teacher”type attractschildren better to pay attention to images,(2)no matter using what types, children pay attention to images and rarely to print,and(3)girls pay more attention to images than boys. The researchers put forward some suggestions accordingly.
