Paulo Mendes da Rocha is Brazil’s most dynamic architect at the forefront in recent decades.He is also the second Brazilian architect to win the Pritzker Prize after Oscar Niemeyer.With the works of Lina Bo Bardi traveling around the world,architects from these third world countries have gradually entered people’s field of vision.They have always adhered to the principle of"designing for civilians".This concept has profoundly affected the shape of major cities in Brazil and even Latin America.The paper analyzes several important works of Mendes da Rocha,and briefly discusses his architectural practice concept of"The City for All"from the perspective of historical compilation.It is hoped that this will provide a further understanding of the trend of modern architectural thought in Brazil,and provide reference and enlightenment for the architectural creation of developing countries.
