Women’s Legal Education and the Cultivation of Female Legal Practitioners-Taking Female Lawyers in Shanghai as the Example

民国女律师的出现开启了中国女性正式踏足法律界的新格局。女律师是女性法律职业者的典型代表,也是女性法律职业者的最初职业身份。职业的发展离不开人才的培养,女律师的培养方式核心就在于女子法学教育。回眸中国女律师成长历程,先后经历了民国、中华人民共和国成立到改革开放、改革开放至今三个阶段。随着国家大环境的变迁,女律师以及中国的女子法学教育的发展也随之沉浮。审视每一阶段中国女律师的成长路径,她们始终处于律师职业中的弱势地位,始终有一块无法打破的“玻璃天花板”。

The appearance of female lawyers in the Republic of China has symbolized a new pattern for Chinese women to formally step into the legal field.Female lawyers are the typical representatives of women in legal profession.The job of lawyer is also female legal practitioners’initial professional identity.The development of profession is inseparable from the cultivation of talent in the field.The core of female lawyers'training lies in women’s legal education.Reviewing the growth process of female lawyers in China,it has gone through three stages,the establishment of the Republic of China,from the establishment of the People’s Republic of China to the Reform and Opening-Up,from the Reform and Opening-Up to the present.Along with China’s great progress,the development of female lawyers and Chinese women’s legal education has also kept changing.Scrutinizing the growth path of Chinese female lawyers at each stage,it has been found that female lawyers are always in a weak position in the lawyer profession and always been limited by an“unbreakable glass ceiling”.
