The Impact of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)on Shanghai’s Economy and Response Strategies

作为目前全球最大的自由贸易协定RCEP的签署,不仅有利于进一步改善区域贸易投资环境,同时还有利于促进区域内价值链的发展,为全球经济注入新的增长活力。作为中国推进制度型开放的起点,RCEP协定在市场准入、规则协调等方面都展现出诸多新特点。研究发现,落实RCEP协定对上海经济发展短期内不会形成重大负面影响,长期来看则具有稳定器、引导器、推进器的作用。

The signing of RCEP,currently the world’s largest free trade agreement,is not only conducive to further improving the regional trade and investment environment,but also to promoting the development of intra-regional value chains and injecting new growth dynamics into the global economy.As the starting point for China to promote system-based opening,the RCEP agreement has shown many new features in terms of market access and rule harmonization.The study finds that the implementation of the RCEP agreement will not have a significant negative impact on Shanghai’s economic development in the short term,but will act as a stabilizer,guide and propeller in the long term.
