摘要
迈尔斯·弗兰克林文学奖是澳大利亚最重要的文学奖项,在澳大利亚享有崇高的威望。然而,从20世纪七八十年代以后,该奖数次遭到诟病,其评选标准屡遭质疑。本文结合该奖面临的几次挑战以及评委会对评选标准的重新阐释,一方面考察迈尔斯·弗兰克林奖自身的发展历程与走向,另一方面探究该奖作为澳大利亚文学体制的重要组成部分与当代澳大利亚文学发展方向之间的关系。
Miles Franklin Literary Award is the most prestigious literary award in Australia.However,since the 1970s,it has been greeted by incessant interrogations and attacks.The article investigates its original judging criteria and the ways more recent judges re-interpreted the criteria,and in analyzing the reasons why it was assailed,seeks to have a deeper understanding of the directions in the developments of contemporary Australian literature and the relations between the Award as an important part of Australia's contemporary literary institutions and the new trends in the development of contemporary Australian writing.
