During most of Liu-song Period,Ying Zhou is an independent region,which shows the good intentions of the ruling class.The setting of Ying Zhou prefecture was an important political measure taken by the Liu-song regime to guard against the enemies of Jing Zhou.It played a political and geographical role to ensure the security of Jian Kang,the center of Liu-song regime,and to balance local forces and stabilize the borderland areas in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
