On the theme of the poem Flying Southeast of The Peacock,there are different views at present,such as anti-feudalism,complex towards son,government-forced marriage and conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.However,the content and historical environment of the poem shows that this poem is mainly about the tragedy of Jiao Zhongqing and Liu Lanzhi who strictly abided by the feudal etiquette but was forced to death by the violence of the authority and patriarchal thoughts.Furthermore,it is not only a family tragedy,but also a social tragedy,a tragedy of the worshippers under the oppression in the turbulent society.This kind of tragedy mainly caused by the impact of social turmoil on thoughts and the weakening of restrictions on the feudal authorities reflects some family problems,which still exist today and are always worth discussing.
