The water plaster therapy of Yi medicine has been passed down to the Yi people for about 150 years as an external treatment method of Yi medicine.Traditional water plaster of Yi medicine has been developed from three Yi medicinal herb,and its formula has now been expanded.Based on ethanol extraction and water extraction methods the preparation of water plaster has been innovated now.Studies have shown that water plaster therapy of Yi medicine has the effects of relieving pain,promoting active bone cell growth,increasing peripheral blood circulation,promoting edema elimination and inflammatory substance absorption,and has significant effects on various orthopedic diseases.This article expounds the origin and clinical research of water plaster therapy of Yi medicine,summarizes the current problems of it,and looks forward to its development prospects.
