A Study of Conceptual Metaphors on"Epidemic Prevention and Control Is A War"

在全世界携手抗击新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情之际,中国国家主席习近平多次发表重要讲话,频繁使用概念隐喻,建构出“疫情防控是战争”的国家话语新形态。这不仅反映出中国国家领导人的国家修辞能力和国家传播能力,而且体现了中国共产党的国家治理智慧和全球治理能力。具体而言,“疫情防控是战争”这一概念隐喻由“打赢疫情防控阻击战”“打赢疫情防控的人民战争、总体战、阻击战”“社区是疫情防控的第一线”“打赢湖北保卫战、武汉保卫战”“疫情防控两条战线”“抗击疫情两个阵地”等子系统构成。随着中国国内疫情的有效控制,面对国际疫情的持续蔓延,习近平向国际社会发出了“疫情防控全球阻击战”的中国声音。本文分析“疫情防控是战争”这一概念隐喻的结构、系统及连贯性,主要选取习近平的相关话语,通过研究探明疫情防控概念的具体建构和生成路径,进一步加深对“疫情防控是战争”话语的理解。

As the international community is fighting with COVID-19,Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered several important speeches to both domestic and overseas audiences,frequently using conceptual metaphors and constructing national discourse declaring that"epidemic prevention and control is a war".This not only reflects the national rhetoric and communication ability of Chinese leaders,but also reflects the national governance wisdom and global governance ability of the CPC.Specifically,the concept metaphor of"epidemic prevention and control is war"is composed of subsystems such as"Winning the resistance war of epidemic prevention and control","Winning the people’s war,general war and resistance war of epidemic prevention and control","Community is the first line of epidemic prevention and control","Winning the Hubei defense war and Wuhan defense war","Epidemic prevention and control needs to be done on two fronts"and"Fighting the epidemic on two fronts".With the continuous spread of COVID-19 globally,President Xi Jinping made China’s voice of"Global prevention and control of epidemic"heard by the international community.This paper analyzes the structure,system and coherence of the metaphor"epidemic prevention and control is war".It quotes President Xi Jinping’s remarks related with"epidemic prevention and control",and deepens the understanding of"prevention and control of epidemic situation is war"by studying the concrete construction and generation path of the concept.
