高校图书馆是图书馆体系的核心,具有馆藏资源的绝对优势。经济社会对信息要素和资源共享的重视,要求高校图书馆进行服务模式的转变,更好地利用资源、服务社会。本文从图书馆职能、高校的社会职能、时代进步等三方面论述了高校图书馆提供社会化服务的必然性,并从对群众文化生活、地区教育、资源配置的作用角度论述了高校图书馆社会服务的实际价值,最后提出对高校图书馆以社会化服务拥抱未来的展望。

University libraries are the core of the library system, with absolute advantage of collection resources. The importance of information elements and resource-sharing in current social economy demands the university libraries to change their service mode so as to make better use of resources and serve the society. The inevitability of university libraries providing social service from three aspects are discussed in the paper, such as the function of library, the social function of university, the progress of the times. Then the actual value of social service provided by university libraries is analyzed from the perspective of mass cultural life, regional education and resource allocation. Finally, the prospects of university libraries embracing the future with social service are put forward.
